West Virginia advanced to its third NCAA Regional final in team history and went 2-2 in Winston-Salem. The Mountaineers set several school records in NCAA play with a 9-1 victory over Maryland on Friday, and reached the regional final with an 8-5, comeback win over the Terrapins earlier on Saturday. WVU’s two games against the 13th-ranked Demon Deacons (42-18) this weekend marked its 17th and 18th against top-25 opponents, and the Mountaineers went 10-8 in those contests.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 13 Wake Forest baseball team advanced to the NCAA Super Regional for the first time since 1999 on Sunday evening (June 4) with a 12-8 victory over West Virginia at David F. Couch Ballpark.

Hosting a regional for the third time in program history, and first since 2002, the Deacs join the 1999 squad, which hosted a regional that year, in advancing to a Super Regional.
