CHAPEL HILL — Tyler Baum tossed 5.1 strong innings to improve to 7-0 and Brandon Riley finished a homer shy of the cycle as No. 2 North Carolina pounded FGCU 10-1 to advance in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. Cody Roberts had three hits of his own, and Brian Miller, Ashton McGee and Kyle Datres added two hits each for the Tar Heels, who now must beat Davidson twice to advance to next week’s Super Regional round.

Miller singled and scored in the first to set the tone for a dominant performance by Carolina (49-13). His RBI single in the second made it 3-0 and the Tar Heels pushed it to 5-0 on run-scoring hits by Tyler Lynn and Zack Gahagan in the fifth.
