Tennessee Tech 3 Florida State 1

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. â€“ Coming off a six-game winning streak in Louisville to win the ACC Championship last week, top-seed Florida State (39-21) fell 3-1 to four-seed Tennessee Tech (41-19) Friday night on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium to open the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Freshman pitcher Drew Parrish allowed just two hits and struck out 12 in 7.1 innings, but the FSU bullpen allowed five hits and a pair of runs in the loss.

Parrish was outstanding for the Seminoles, matching his previous career-high of seven strikeouts in the third inning en route to 12 in 7.1 innings. The 12 strikeouts are the most for a Florida State pitcher in the postseason since Luke Weaver had 14 against Troy in 2013.
