Game 1: Oklahoma 7 Xavier 2
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The second-seeded University of Oklahoma baseball team used a seven-run, seven-hit seventh inning to top three-seed Xavier, 7-2, in its NCAA Regional opener at Jim Patterson Stadium in Louisville, Ky., on Friday afternoon. The Sooners (35-22) will face the winner of No. 1-seed and host school Louisville versus four-seed Radford in the winners’ bracket Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
Xavier lefty ace Zac Lowther (5-5) stymied the Sooners for six innings, allowing just two hits and giving up no runs while striking out seven, but OU chased him with their explosion in the seventh.
Game 2: Louisville 11 Radford 6
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jake Snider delivered a game-changing two-run homer while Josh Stowers had three hits and three RBI to lift the No. 7 Louisville baseball team to an 11-6 win over Radford on Friday night in the day one finale of the NCAA Regional at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The Cardinals (48-10) advance to a winner’s bracket game against Oklahoma (35-22) on Saturday at 7 p.m., ET. The Sooners opened the NCAA Regional with a 7-2 victory against Xavier on Friday afternoon. Saturday’s schedule will begin at noon with an elimination game between Radford (27-31) and Xavier.
