ORONO, Maine – Maine baseball announces their 2017 schedule today. The Black Bears play a total of 55 games beginning on February 17 as they travel to Rock Hill, South Carolina to take on Winthrop University.
“We are pleased to announce our 2017 schedule and are very excited to embark on a challenging, competitive season,” said Head Coach Steve Trimper.
“We have many quality opponents slated for our non-conference portion, followed with always tough America East conference teams. Our conference teams have all improved tremendously in the past few years, and we look forward to the great competition that comes with America East play.”
The Black Bears play the following teams for their non-conference schedule: Winthrop University, Central Connecticut State University, St. Bonaventure University, Florida Atlantic, UMass, University of Miami, St. John’s, Manhattan College, Thomas College, UMaine Farmington, UMaine Presque Isle, Colby College, Rhode Island and Boston College.
Maine opens America East play on March 18 as they travel to Baltimore, Maryland to take on UMBC. Maine plays their first game of the season at Mahaney Diamond on April 8 as they host Hartford. The Black Bears close out conference play with Albany May 19 and 20.
The America East Tournament begins on May 24 and concludes on May 28.
