NJCAABaseballLogoCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The NJCAA has announced plans for the Association to relocate its 2017 Division III Baseball Championship set to take place this May out of Kinston, North Carolina, due to growing concerns over legislation in the state and its potential impact on NJCAA student-athletes, coaches and personnel.

In announcing its decision today, the NJCAA Executive Committee referenced the mission statement in the NJCAA Constitution, which emphasizes the promotion and governance of competitive athletics in an inclusive environment for all student-athletes, coaches and administrators of its member colleges. It was determined by the executive committee that the current HB2 law in North Carolina poses specific challenges to the inclusive environment the NJCAA believes should not be in question at its national championships.

The NJCAA will work to find a replacement site immediately.
