NavyFootballThe Service Academies have always faced a disadvantage in recruiting due to the fact they have to commit to serving time in the Armed Forces once graduating eliminating their chance to play professional sports. This past year saw a Navy quarterback in Kellen Reynolds make a run for the Heisman Trophy and Navy have one of the best pitchers in the country in Luke Gillingham.

It was recently announced that athletes in the position to play a professional sport can apply for a two year stay to go after a professional career. You can check out a full article on it from The Colorado Springs Gazette by clicking here.
