College Baseball Daily has learned that former MLB All-Star and Cy Young winner Greg Maddux will join the UNLV coaching staff as the pitching coach. After being selected in the 1984 draft out of Valley High School in Las Vegas, Maddux played parts of 23 seasons in the majors being named an All-Star on eight occasions and winning the Cy Young Award on four occasions. He was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014 with 97.2 percent of the vote. Most recently, Maddux has served as a Special Assistant in the Cubs and Rangers system.
