He took a no-no into the sixth inning and allowed just two hits the entire game. With the win, Webb improves to 6-1 on the season and has struck out 25 batters in 16 innings pitched over his last two starts.
Strike Two: Dakota Mason goes the distance
Mason struck out 11 hitters in a complete game performance, and the Bulldogs won game one, 3-1. Mason allowed just one run on four Rebels’ hits, and the Bulldogs will try to clinch the series in game two Saturday.
Strike Three: Miami starts off well in another ranked series
This week the Hurricanes are hosting (7) North Carolina in Coral Gables. Miami didn’t miss a beat coming off last week’s sweep of Clemson, and the Hurricanes plated seven runs during the fifth and sixth innings. Miami finished the job and won their twelfth game in the last 13. The 10-4 win puts the Hurricanes with a 21-4 overall record, and they’re 8-2 in ACC play.
