Air Force releases 2016 Schedule

AirForceSchedule.jpgAir Force baseball released its 2016 schedule, announced today by head coach Mike Kazlausky. The 54-game slate features 23 home games, the most home games for Falcon baseball since 2007.

Air Force opens the season Feb. 19-21 against Buffalo, Marist and Davidson in Davidson, N.C. Air Force’s home-opener will be Feb. 23 against Adams State.

Air Force will play service Academy rival Navy again at the Service Academies Classic at Historic Grainger Stadium in Kinston, N.C., from Feb. 26-28.

The Falcons open the 30-game Mountain West portion of the schedule March 4-6, hosting Nevada. Air Force will play each conference member in a home-and-away series.

The Falcons also host non-conference games against Omaha, Northern Colorado and SIUE. Air Force has non-conference road games at UC Davis, Iowa, Northern Colorado, Omaha and Creighton. The Creighton game will be played at TD Ameritrade Park, the home of the NCAA College World Series.

Air Force wraps up the regular season May 19-21 with a home series against New Mexico. The season wraps up May 25-29 at the Mountain West Championship, hosted by New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. All six conference teams will participate in the MW Championship.

Air Force returns seven starters in the field and all three weekend starting pitchers off the 2015 team that went 23-29, for its winningest season in 12 years. The Falcons set a school record with 22 wins against Div. I opponents.
