ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis baseball has released its 2016 schedule. The Billikens have 55 games on the docket with 25 home contests.
“I look forward to our non conference schedule as it will prepare us for Atlantic 10 Conference competition,” head coach Darin Hendrickson said. “We have three 2015 super regional teams (Illinois, Missouri State and VCU) on the slate for seven games, and we open at a great venue in Las Vegas against BYU. The Kansas tournament gives us two games against Big 12 and Big Ten competition. We play a home-and-home with OVC champion SEMO and MVC opponents Missouri State, Southern Illinois and Illinois State also are on the schedule. We travel to Richmond and to VCU in what will be six tough road A-10 games.”
Saint Louis opens up the season Feb. 19-22 in Las Vegas, Nev. when they take on BYU for a four-game series. It will be the first meeting between the two teams.
The Billikens open their home schedule on Mar. 2 against fellow Jesuit institution Rockhurst.
SLU opens the Atlantic 10 Conference schedule on Mar. 24 with a trip to Dayton, Ohio, to take on the Dayton Flyers.
The 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship takes place on May 25-29 in Bronx, N.Y., and is hosted by Fordham. Saint Louis has been the top seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship in each of the past four seasons.
