Auburn has fired head baseball coach Sunny Golloway as head coach with cause according to the official Auburn website. Current assistant coach Greg Norton will take over duties until a replacement is named. CBD has learned associate head coach Tom Holliday has been placed on Administrative Leave.
AUBURN, Ala. – Sunny Golloway, who served as Auburn head baseball coach for the previous two seasons, has been relieved of his duties Auburn Athletics Director Jay Jacobs announced Sunday.
“I regret to announce that earlier today I dismissed Auburn head baseball coach Sunny Golloway with cause,” Jacobs said. “My commitment will always be to provide the best student-athlete experience in the nation, and we will not accept anything less.”
Former major leaguer and current Auburn assistant coach Greg Norton will be responsible for baseball operations until a new coach is hired.
Sunny Golloway has commented on his firing to Matthew Stevens of The Montgomery Advertiser.
