Akron (7-5):
The Zips started out the weekend with a rough 17-9 loss to Coastal Carolina. In the loss Daulton Mosbarger was 2-4 with 3 runs scored, while Kris Simonton was 3-5 with 2 runs and an RBI. Akron then bounced back to beat Michigan State 3-1. J.T. Brubaker had a solid outing on the mound giving up just 1 ER on 8 hits and 1 walks over 8 innings with 4 strikeouts. Matt Rembielak was 3-5 with a run scored. They finished off the weekend with a huge 2-0 shutout victory over Michigan. Pat Dyer tossed 8 scoreless innings allowing just 5 his and 3 walks, while striking out two. Mosbarger was 1-2 with a run scored.
Ball State (7-7):
The Cardinals dropped a tough extra inning game in their first contest of the weekend against Northwestern 5-4. Scott Tyler was 2-5 with a run and an RBI. They beat Dartmouth 7-4 in their second game as Tyler went 2-3 with two runs and an RBI and Brandon Estep was 2-5 with 3 RBI. They capped off the weekend with a 17-1 loss to Indiana with Alex Call going 2-4.
Bowling Green State (3-6):
The Falcons had a disappointing weekend getting swept by Campbell. They lost the first game 4-2 as Trey Keegan was 3-4 with a run and an RBI. They dropped the second one 9-4 and the third one 4-2. In the third game Keegan was 2-3 with an RBI.
Buffalo (2-5):
Buffalo had another though time finding good weather to play in as their weekend schedule was altered. They did however get to play two against Dayton on Sunday and lost the first one 7-5. Charlie Sobieraski was 2-4 with 2 RBI and Bobby Sheppard was 2-5 with a run and an RBI. They bounced back in game two to win 6-3. Nick Sinay was 1-4 with a run and 2 RBI and Chris Kwitzer was 4-4 with a run and 2 RBI. Anthony Magovney gave up 3 ER over 6 innings and struck out six.
Central Michigan (10-5):
CMU took two-out-of-three from Wichita State over the weekend. They scored three runs in the 9th inning of game one to win 6-3. Logan Regnier was 2-4 with 2 runs scored. They won the second game 4-1 as Pat Leatherman led the way on the mound. In 6.2 innings he gave up 1 ER on 4 hits and a walk, while striking out six. At the plate Zach McKinstry was 2-4 with a run and Nick Regnier drove in two. They failed to complete the sweep losing the third game 10-5. Daniel Jipping was 3-4 with a home run, 2 runs and an RBI in the loss.
Eastern Michigan (6-10):
The Eagles lost the first game of a three game set against Georgia State 8-5. Mitchell McGeein was 3-5 with a run, while Michael Mioduszewski was 3-5 with a run and 2 RBI. They dropped the second game 5-4. Austin Wilson was 3-4 with a run and an RBI, and John Rubino was 2-5 with a run. They salvaged the third game winning 3-1. Jake Andrews pitched 8.1 innings, allowing just 1 ER on 5 hits and 2 walks with 3 strikeouts.
Kent State (6-6):
Kent State was able to win the first game of the weekend against Liberty before losing the last two. In the 7-4 win Nick Jensen-Clagg gave up 2 ER on 3 hits and 3 walks in 6.1 innings, while striking out nine. Zarley Zalewski went 4-5 with a home run, 2 runs and 3 RBI. They lost game two 4-3 despite Eric Lauer striking out 10 over 5.2 innings. Zalewski was 3-4 with an RBI in this one. They lost the third game 8-3 as Curtis Olvey was 1-2 with 2 RBI. On the weekend Zalewski was 8-12 with a home run, 3 runs and 4 RBI.
Miami (2-8):
Miami went up against #8 South Carolina and played them tough in all three games, but they were unable to pick up a win. They lost the first game 2-0 despite Ryan Powers tossing a gem of a game. He gave up 2 ER on 4 hits and 3 walks over 7.1 innings with a couple of strikeouts. Matt Honchel was 2-4 in the loss. They lost the second game 7-0 and the third game 5-3. In game three Steve Sada was 2-5 with a run scored.
Northern Illinois (7-6):
NIU picked up two big wins over Southern Illinois this past weekend. They lost game one of the series 5-4 as Brad Wood was 2-3 with 2 RBI in the loss. They won game two 8-2 as Dirk Orsmby gave up 1 ER on 7 hits and 3 walks over 7 innings with 2 strikeouts. Malique Ziegler was 3-4 with 2 runs scored. Stephen Letz and Wes Sery were both 2-5 with a run and 2 RBI in the win. They shutout SIU in the third game 3-0. Ryan Olson pitched 6 scoreless innings allowing just 5 hits and a walk, while striking out four. Wood was 2-4 with an RBI.
Ohio (9-4):
The Bobcats had a huge weekend as they swept UIC. They won the first game 6-4 with Ty Black going 3-4 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Connor Sitz gave up 3 ER in 6.2 innings on 7 hits and 2 walks with 4 strikeouts. They won the second game 11-7 as Manny DeJesus was 3-5 with a run and 2 RBI. Tyler Wells was also 3-5 a run and 2 RBI. They took the third game 8-4 as Garrett Black went 2-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBI.
Toledo (4-9):
The Rockets lost their first game of the weekend 5-1 to Michigan State. Dan Zuchowski was 1-4 with an RBI in the loss. A.J. Montoya was 2-4 with 2 home runs, 2 runs and 3 RBI in their 19-5 loss to Michigan. Toledo salvaged a win in their third game beating UMBC 1-0. Caleb Schillace allowed 5 hits and 1 walk over 8 innings with 6 strikeouts, while Zuchowski was 1-3 with a run at the plate.
Western Michigan (8-8-1):
The Broncos were swept by Florida Gulf Coast over the weekend. They lost a tough on in game one 4-3. Jared Kujawa had a home run. They lost the second game 7-1 with Nick Vogelmeier going 2-4 at the plate. They dropped the third game in ugly fashion 15-4, but Kurt Hoekstra did go 2-3 and drove in 2 runs.
