After loosing their first two games of the year the Cal State Fullerton Titans bounced back to give the University of Louisville their first loss of the season. John Gavin struck out five and let up four earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched in route to his first win of the year.

Rutgers at (13) Miami (Game 3)
Derek Beauprez picks up his first win of the year as the Hurricanes complete the 4-game series sweep over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights this afternoon by a final score of 25-4. The Miami offense took advantage of a weary Rutgers pitching rotation as they compiled a total of 21 hits and had six different players with two or more hits. George Iskenderian collected four hits in four at bats and also knocked in two RBI. Eusebio, Rosier and Collins each collected two hits apiece and combined for nine RBI.

Making his collegiate debut today, Cobi Johnson struck out six while allowing just two walks and two hits in 5.0 scoreless innings to receive his first career win. Eight Seminoles recorded a hit but it was DJ Stewart and Cage West that paced the offense with two hits apiece.

Greg Jacknewitz pitched 5.0 scoreless innings giving up only two hits and walking one batter in route to his first win of the season. Three Xavier batters each recorded two hits as Selby Chidemo paced the offense with three hits and a RBI.

Nick McCarthy pitched 7.2 innings of four-hit ball only allowing one run (0 ER) and three walks in Notre Dame’s 5-1 victory over the Sooners. After losing the first game to Oklahoma the Fighting Irish rallied back to win the series, 2-1, and finish opening weekend with a 3-1 record.

Jon Woodcook only gave up two runs and two hits in 6.0 innings of work while striking out seven and walking two in the rubber match with Virginia Tech, Sunday afternoon. Pacing the Virginia Tech offense was Saige Jenco who went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

West Virginia at Clemson (Game 3)
Chad Donato threw 6.0 innings allowing only one earned run and seven hits in West Virginia’s 6-1 victory over Clemson. Donato struck out five batters and only walked one before turning it over to the bullpen to finish out the game. Taylor Munden, Shaun Corso, Kyle Davis and KC Huth combined for eight of the eleven Mountain hits.

Duke 12 Cal 7
BERKELEY: In a back and forth game with a lot of hitting and scoring, Duke defeated Cal, 12-7, Sunday at Evans Diamond. The Golden Bears (1-2) had 2-0 lead at one point, trailed 6-2, and had a 7-6 advantage before yielding five runs in the eighth inning on the way to the final 12-7 margin.
Cal finished its opening series 1-2, losing to the Blue Devils, 7-1, on Friday, but rebounding to win 3-2 over Duke on Saturday behind 12 strikeouts from junior right-hander Ryan Mason and six strikeouts from senior right-hander Dylan Nelson.
