We have finally made it to opening day….where the early morning workouts, late night hitting, and 30 degree bullpens finally have a chance to reveal their worth.
It’s a day that everyone has been anticipating for almost nine months and after our 8 hour bus rides and hotel fiascos, we are here and ready to go. As a Division II program, many of the challenges we face just become a part of what we do, without a second thought. We may not have the scholarship money, the big city atmosphere, or the multi-million dollar facilities that some of our Division I counterparts have to offer, but I’d like to think that only makes what we do even more fulfilling.
We fight through things that some people may consider insurmountable and never think twice about doing things the right way.
This is Division II baseball and I hope to give a season-long picture of what we do, how we do it, and the emotions we encounter along the way.
