Dover, Del. (Jan. 14, 2015) — Delaware State University has released its baseball schedule for the 2015 season. The Hornets’ 49-game regular season slate includes 21 contests at Soldier Field on the DSU campus.
The Hornets will open the 2015 season on the road with a four-game series at Presbyterian University in Clinton. S.C., beginning Feb. 13. The teams will play a doubleheader on Feb. 14, and wrap up the series with a single game on Feb. 15.
The next two weekends, the Hornets will compete in tournaments at Duke University (Feb. 20-22) and the University of Delaware (Feb. 27-Mar. 1). DSU will face the host Blue Hens in tourney games on Feb. 27 and Mar. 1 at Bob Hannah Stadium in Newark. Delaware will visit the Hornets on Apr. 8 at Soldier Field.
Delaware State will play its 2015 home opener as part of a doubleheader against NJIT on Mar. 7. The teams will also play a twin-bill the following day.
The Hornets will begin Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play with a three-game series at home against Norfolk State. The teams will open the series with a doubleheader on Mar. 14; and play a single game on the 15th.
The 2015 MEAC Tournament is scheduled for May 12-16 at Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Md.
The Hornets were 30-19 overall and captured their third straight MEAC North title with a 17-7 league mark during the 2014 season.
