LOWELL, Mass. – Highlighted by 22 games at LeLacheur Park and tough road tests against Dallas Baptist and Bryant, UMass Lowell Baseball Head Coach Ken Harring announced the clubs full 2015 schedule on Tuesday.
“The 2015 schedule is challenging from start to finish,” said HarrIng. “In making a schedule, we are looking to challenge the team in tough baseball environments so we are prepared when we play our conference games.”
The River Hawks will face a trio of NCAA Tournament Regional qualifiers on the road when they travel to Dallas Baptist, the Heartland Conference Tournament champion, Bryant, the Northeast Conference Tournament champion, and America East representative Binghamton.
Including the season opener at Georgia State on February 20, the River Hawks will play 33 games on the road and will host 22 with the home opener slated for March 19 against Yale.
“Our three weekend opponents to start off the year will test our abilities in all facets of our game, but will prepare us for the rigor of America East play,” said Harring.
The team begins the 2015 campaign with 16 consecutive road games, starting with four game series against the Panthers (Feb. 20-22), Patriots (Feb. 27-March 1) and the College of William and Mary (March 6-8). A three game set against Farleigh Dickinson (March 14-15) and single game at Fordham (March 17) conclude the club’s road stretch.
Harring and his club start the conference portion of the schedule with three games at home against Albany on March 21-22. The AE slate features games at Stony Brook (March 28-29) and Binghamton (April 3-4).
