TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State men’s baseball team has announced the schedule for the 2015 season. In 2014, the Sycamores were 35-18, including 14-7 in the Missouri Valley during the regular season and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Regional in Bloomington, Indiana. It was the first season for head coach Mitch Hannahs as the Sycamores look to improve upon that in 2015. A total of 56 games are scheduled, with 28 games in Terre Haute, and 28 games away.
The Sycamores open the season on February 13th, at the University of Louisiana-Monroe Tournament, with the first game against the host Warhawks. The Sycamores will face Grambling State and Central Arkansas during the tournament. The following weekend ISU travels to Elon, North Carolina playing the host Elon University on February 20th before facing in-state rival Ball State, and finishing the weekend against Rhode Island.
The Sycamores stay on the road for the next four games. ISU faces Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tennessee on Feb. 25th before traveling to Atlanta, Georgia to take on ACC member Georgia Tech in a three-game series.
Indiana State opens at Bob Warn Field on March 3rd as they play host to the Eastern Illinois Panthers. ISU plays their next seven games in Terre Haute with three against Youngstown State and one against Austin Peay, before hosting Central Michigan, Rutgers and Canisius in the Indiana State University Tournament March 12-16th.
The Sycamores travel to Nebraska for a two-game set March 17th and 18th before opening the Missouri Valley Conference schedule against Missouri State in Springfield March 20th-22nd. ISU makes a stop in Edwardsville, Illinois for a day game against SIU-Edwardsville on March 24th.
ISU then plays the next five games at home against Evansville, March 27th-29th, the Butler Bulldogs March 31st, and the Ball State Cardinals on April 1st.
April 3rd-5th, ISU plays at Wichita State for a three-game series before returning home to face off against Purdue at Bob Warn Field on April 7th. The following day, Indiana State travels to Charleston, Illinois to take on Eastern Illinois.
The Sycamores host the following four games against Southern Illinois April 10th-12th, and Indiana April 14th.
ISU travels to Dallas Baptist the following weekend, April 17th-19th for a three game series against the reigning MVC-tournament champions, then to West Lafayette, Indiana for a matchup with Purdue.
The Sycamores then host ten of the next eleven games at Bob Warn Field. A three game set against Arkansas-Little Rock April 24th-26th before traveling to Bloomington to take on the Hoosiers on April 29th. ISU returns home for three game sets against Bradley May 1st-3rd, and Southeast Missouri State May 8th-10th and a night game against SIU-Edwardsville May 12th.
ISU closes out the regular season at Illinois State, May 14th-16th in Normal, Illinois before the conference tournament May 19th-23rd, hosted by Wichita State.
