FROM PRESS RELEASE
NEW YORK – Columbia head baseball coach Brett Boretti has announced the Lions 2015 spring schedule. The two-time reigning Ivy League Champions will open up the season in Texas for a three-game series with the University of Houston from February 27-March 1.

“We have put together another exciting schedule to challenge us each and every time we take the field,” Boretti said. “We have a very strong non-conference schedule, starting off at 2014 Super Regional participant Houston and followed by perennial power University of Central Florida before we make our way thru the Carolina’s playing 10 games in 9 days on our spring break trip.”

Columbia then heads to Orlando, Florida, for a series with UCF followed by the aforementioned spring break trip to the Carolinas where they will take on UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Duke and USC Upstate from March 14-22.

The Lions return to the Northeast with a single game at Army on March 25 before their Ancient Eight title defense begins.

Dartmouth and Harvard come to Robertson Field at Satow Stadium on March 28 and 29 to open up Columbia’s 11-game home slate. The next weekend, the Lions take on Brown (April 4) and Yale (April 5) on the road.

A mid-week home tilt with St. John’s precludes the beginning of Gehrig Divisional play where Columbia will open a four-game, two-day series with Princeton on April 11. The Lions will also stay in New Jersey for a non-conference contest at Rutgers on April 15.

Ivy League play resumes with a home series with Cornell from April 18-19.

Columbia will make the short trip to Fordham for a doubleheader in the Bronx on April 21 before closing out the regular season with a home-and-home series with Penn, beginning with two home games on April 25 and closing up the set with a twinbill in Philadelphia the next day.

The Ivy League Championship Series is slated for May 2-3 and will be held at the team with the best overall conference record.
