AustinBayRENO, Nev. – Nevada head baseball coach Jay Johnson has announced the team’s 2015 schedule, which features 27 homes games, marquee nonconference meetings and the Mountain West Tournament at Peccole Park.

“We are very excited about the challenges our schedule presents to our team,” said Johnson. “Our players are getting a top level Division I baseball experience here with this schedule. To have the opportunity to play in environments such as Rip Griffin Park, Sunken Diamond, Fowler Park and TD Ameritrade is a great step forward for our program, will help us build a solid RPI, and more importantly, prepare us for a very difficult Mountain West Conference slate.”

The Wolf Pack’s regular season schedule consists of 56 games, including 27 at Peccole Park, one of the top baseball facilities in the region. Nevada will host the Mountain West Tournament for the first time on May 20-24.

Nevada kicks off the season on Feb. 13 with a three-game series at Abilene Christian in Abilene, Texas. The Pack will then play 2014 College World Series participant Texas Tech before its home-opening series against MW foe Fresno State, Feb. 20-22.

The Pack will also meet Stanford for the first time since 2008, taking on the Cardinal on Feb. 24 in Palo Alto, Calif. Another notable nonconference opponent for Nevada will be San Diego, where Johnson was an associate head coach for eight seasons prior to Nevada. Nevada will play at San Diego on April 20.

Nevada will play a three-game series at the home of the College World Series – TD Ameritrade Park – against the Creighton Bluejays, May 8-10. The Wolf Pack also plays a single-game home-and-home series with Sacramento State, the 2014 WAC champions.

Johnson and the Wolf Pack will also have to navigate an always-challenging Mountain West schedule. Nevada will play home-and-home series with UNLV, New Mexico, Fresno State and San José State. The Pack will play a three-game series at San Diego State, while closing the regular season with a three-game series against Air Force at Peccole.
