TROY, Alabama – The Troy University baseball team released its 54-game schedule, which includes 31 games at Riddle-Pace Field, head coach Bobby Pierce announced on Tuesday.
The Trojans 2015 home slate is highlighted by non-conference visits from Southern Mississippi, UAB, Jacksonville State, Samford, Northwestern State, Alabama A&M, Florida A&M and Alabama State. Home conference series include matchups against Georgia Southern, Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, Texas State and Georgia State.
The team will play 38 games in the state of Alabama and will face three teams that competed in an NCAA Regional last season (UL Lafayette, Jacksonville State and Georgia Southern).
“This schedule offers tremendous challenges both at home and on the road,” head coach Bobby Pierce said. “I’m excited to be returning to Pensacola, we had a great experience last year and are fortunate to go back and play a round-robin tournament.”
The Trojans faced Alabama at Bayfront Stadium last season and will return to Pensacola to take on Saint Louis, North Florida and Nicholls State on Feb. 20-22.
The team will open Pierce’s 13th and final season at the helm of the Trojan program with a four-game home series against Northwestern State on Feb. 13-15.
Riddle-Pace Field will play host for the eight-team, double-elimination Sun Belt Conference Tournament that will take place from May 20-24. Troy last hosted the event in 2009.
