FORT WORTH – TCU baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle announced the 2015 schedule, which will feature 33 home games.
TCU’s 55-game slate will see the Horned Frogs play 21 road games and one contest at a neutral site. The schedule is highlighted by 21 games against 2014 postseason participants, 10 against Super Regional teams and seven versus College World Series clubs.
The Frogs put together a dynamite end to the 2014 campaign that culminated in a berth in the College World Series and a No. 5 national ranking at the end of the season. TCU claimed the university’s first team Big 12 championship as it won the postseason tournament title.
A three-game home series against Southern Illinois beginning Feb. 13 kicks off the 2015 season. The Frogs will wrap up the season-opening four-game homestand with the first of three meetings against UT Arlington on Feb. 17.
TCU will hit the road for the first time for a three-game series at NCAA participant Arizona State beginning Feb. 20.
The Frogs return home for a five-game homestand beginning Feb. 24 against Texas Southern. A three-game series against another NCAA participant, Cal Poly, starts Feb. 27. TCU will welcome Rice to Fort Worth for the first time since 2001 on March 3.
A four game trip to California follows as the Horned Frogs will take part in the Dodger Stadium Classic, which is slated to run March 6-8. TCU will face USC, UCLA and Vanderbilt as part of the Classic. The games against USC and UCLA will take part on its respective campuses while the contest against defending National Champion, Vanderbilt, will be played at Dodger Stadium on March 8. The trip concludes with a Tuesday, March 10 contest at Loyola-Marymount.
The opening of Big 12 play coincides with the beginning of a season-long 12-game homestand on March 13. TCU will host Baylor for three before a midweek series against UT Pan American starts on March 17. Super Regional participant Oklahoma State comes to Lupton Stadium March 20-22. TCU will play a non-conference tilt against Oklahoma on March 24 and concludes its homestand with a three-game series against Wichita State.
The month of March ends with the first of two tilts at UT Arlington on the 31st.
TCU will play seven of the first eight games in the month of April away from home. A three-game set at College World Series participant Texas Tech begins April 3-5. The only home game in the stretch is an April 7 contest against Dallas Baptist. TCU returns to the road beginning April 10-12 at Kansas State before wrapping up the stretch at UT Arlington on April 14.
Another lengthy homestand begins April 17. The seven-game stretch opens with a three-game series against Santa Clara (April 17-19) and continues with a midweek tilt against Incarnate Word (April 21). The homestand concludes with a three-game series against College World Series participant, Texas.
The month of April ends at Dallas Baptist on April 28. A trip to West Virginia (May 1-3) kicks off the month of May.
TCU will wrap up its home schedule with a three-game series against Kansas (May 8-10) and a midweek game versus Abilene Christian (May 12).
The regular season comes to a close with a three-game series at Oklahoma May 14-16.
The Big 12 postseason tournament shifts to Tulsa, Okla. in 2015. TCU will begin its title defense May 20.
