JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A full slate of 33 home games including visits from Florida State and VCU highlight the 2015 schedule for Jacksonville University baseball.
The Dolphins will begin the season Feb. 13 with a three game series against a Middle Tennessee State program that won 31 games last season. The annual match-up against Florida State follows on Tuesday, Feb. 17 as the Dolphins and Seminoles meet for the 161st time dating back to the 1960 season. Jacksonville will also travel to Tallahassee this season on Feb. 24. Three games against Coppin State on Feb. 21-22 will follow the home match-up against the Seminoles and wrap up a seven game home stand to start the season.
In addition, Jacksonville hosts non-conference home weekend series against VCU (March 6-8), Samford (March 13-15) and The Citadel (March 27-29). Other non-conference midweek opponents for the Dolphins this season include home games against instate rivals UCF, Florida A&M, USF, FIU as well as 2014 NCAA Regional participants Bethune-Cookman and Georgia Southern.
On March 18 the Dolphins will play host the Mayor’s Cup against cross rival North Florida in a non-conference affair.
Atlantic Sun plays gets underway April 2-4 with the Dolphins hosting Lipscomb. JU will also host Stetson and USC Upstate while making trips to Florida Gulf Coast, North Florida, Northern Kentucky and Kennesaw State.
The 2014 A-Sun Tournament will be host by Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, Fla. May 20-24.
