Former Hartford LHP Sean Newcomb final appearance with the Hawks was a dominating performance against Binghamton when he went seven innings allowing two hits and only one unearned run while striking out 14 batters.(Full Recap)
This performance ended up leading him to be selected in the first round by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Newcomb started the summer with Class A Burlington where he struggled mightily in his first few outings giving up 10 runs in his first 10 2/3 innings.
Over his final nine innings of the year, he gave up one run while striking out 16.
