Coastal Carolina is finally going to get back to campus this spring this season as the renovations are set to wrap up by this spring.
CONWAY — After considerable delays on a project that was initially targeted to be done in time for last spring, Coastal Carolina officials are being told the school’s new baseball stadium is finally nearing the stage of “substantial completion.”
That doesn’t mean it will be totally finished this month or next – many of the amenities, including grass berms down the sides, a new outfield wall and a boardwalk around the outfield have yet to be started – but interim athletic director Matt Hogue is taking this latest projected time line as encouraging news the ballpark will indeed be ready for the 2015 season.
“That’s the plan,” Hogue said. “Unless we run into unforeseen circumstances, we’ll play baseball there.”
When that happens, it will no doubt be a relief for all involved in the slow-moving project.
