LUBBOCK, Texas — The National College Baseball Hall of Fame is proud to announce Aaron Nola as the winner of the 2014 National Pitcher of the Year Award, sponsored by Diamond Sports.
The LSU junior had an outstanding 23-2 record with a 1.47 ERA in 2014. In 116 1/3 innings pitched, he had 134 strikeouts, a .172 opponents’ batting average, and gave up just four home runs.
“There were some truly exceptional pitchers this year, but Aaron clearly stood out,” said Raymond Richardson, Pitcher of the Year chairman. “He put up really impressive numbers. He’s a great choice for this award and is very deserving of this title.”
The award will officially be presented at the Hall of Fame’s annual Night of Champions event.
