2014 Columbia Regional: Day 2 Recap

Campbell 4 Old Dominion 1 (12 innings)

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Campbell scored three runs in the top of the 12th inning to top Old Dominion 4-1 Saturday in NCAA Columbia Regional action at Carolina Stadium.

The NCAA Tournament win is Campbell’s first in program history in its second trip. CU also made a NCAA Regional in 1990.

Campbell improves to 41-20 overall on the season, tying for the second most wins in program history, while Old Dominion ends its season at 36-26.

Locked in a 1-1 knot, the Camels loaded the bases on two walks and a hit by pitch with none out in the top of the 12th.

Terps Hold Off Late Gamecock Rally to Advance

COLUMBIA, S.C. With the tying run 90 feet away, Maryland turned a 4-6-3 game-ending double play to seal a dramatic 4-3 victory over top-seeded South Carolina Saturday night at Carolina Stadium snapping the Gamecocks 28-game postseason home winning streak and sending the Terps into the Columbia Regional final.
