BATON ROUGE — LSU rallied from a 4-2 deficit with six runs in its last two at bats to defeat Southeastern Louisiana, 8-4, in the opening game of the 2014 NCAA Baseball Regional at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
Top-seeded LSU (45-14-1) won its ninth-straight game and advanced to face the winner of No. 2-seed Houston and No. 3-seed Bryant at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday.
Southeastern Louisiana (37-24), the Southland Conference Tournament Champions, had its six-game winning streak snapped despite breaking a 2-2 tie in the top of the sixth inning with a two-run home run by first baseman Sam Roberson.

BATON ROUGE, La. – Playing in its first NCAA Regional game since 2008, No. 9 Houston Baseball won in dramatic fashion, earning a 3-2 walkoff win over Bryant on a Justin Montemayor sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10thinning Friday evening in the Baton Rouge Regional at Alex Box Stadium.
With the win, the Cougars improved to 45-15 on the year and are just three wins shy of tying the program-record of 48, last coming in 2002. With the loss, Bryant fell to 42-15 and will face (4) Southeastern Louisiana at 2 p.m. Saturday in the first elimination game.
The Cougars will face No. 1-seed and No. 8 overall national seed LSU at 7 p.m. Saturday evening. Houston will be the home team by virtue of a coin flip.
