Fulmer Blanks Gators 3-0
Gainesville, Fla. – Carson Fulmer put No. 18 Vanderbilt on his back Friday night in his home state, shutting out No. 4 Florida 3-0 at McKethan Stadium to even the series.
Fulmer was dominant in his first career complete game shutout, scattering four hits and matching a career-best with eight strikeouts. The Gators (34-17, 19-7) never threatened the sophomore, not getting a runner to second base until two outs in the ninth when Fulmer fielded a chopper and threw the ball wide to first base.
Tennessee Wins Crucial Game to Begin Series
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Tennessee closer Andrew Lee worked out of a pair of bases-loaded jams, with nobody out in the eighth and just one out in the ninth, to help the Vols claim their third consecutive Southeastern Conference victory as they held on to defeat No. 21 Mississippi State, 4-2, on Friday night at Dudy Noble Field.
Top Ranked Cavaliers Rally For Win
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Mike Papi (Jr., Tunkhannock, Pa.) hit a two-out, two-run single in seventh inning to rally the No. 1-ranked Virginia baseball team to a 4-3 win over Georgia Tech Friday evening at Davenport Field. The victory was the 500th in the UVa coaching career of Brian O’Connor, who becomes the second fastest to reach 500 wins in ACC history.
Notre Dame Hands Clemson Costly Loss
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame baseball team plated two runs in the third inning and junior RHP Pat Connaughton did the rest with some help from senior closer Donnie Hissa as the Irish kicked off its first game on the new FieldTurf at Frank Eck Stadium with a 2-1 victory over the No. 22 Clemson Tigers that was seen nationally on ESPNU.
TCU Wins 13th Straight Game
FORT WORTH – The 10th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs stretched their winning streak to 13 straight with a 10-2 win over Oklahoma Friday night. TCU scored 10 unanswered runs to give it 20 victories in its last 21 games.

The No. 22 Liberty Flames plated five runs in the fourth inning, en route to 7-1 win over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, clinching the Big South regular season title, Friday night at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
