Cal Poly Earns Huge Sweep Over Cal State Fullerton
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Sophomore right-hander Casey Bloomquist has won 15 games in his first two seasons as a Mustang. He earned his first complete game Saturday against a team that has won the last four Big West Conference championships.
Bloomquist (9-0) pitched a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts as the No. 3-ranked Mustangs completed a sweep of their three-game Big West Conference series against Cal State Fullerton with a 3-0 victory before 2,614 in Baggett Stadium.
The Titans had not been swept in a three-game series since 2011 when LSU accomplished the feat. Last time Cal State Fullerton was swept in a Big West series was in 2007 when UC Riverside won all three games against the Titans en route to the conference title.

LSU Blanks Ole Miss to Record Series Victory
OXFORD, Miss. – Four LSU pitchers combined to fire the Tigers’ 12th shutout of the season Saturday, as the seventh-ranked Tigers blanked No. 10 Ole Miss, 2-0, in front of 9,741 fans at Swayze Field.
LSU, which won an SEC series over Ole Miss for the fourth straight season, improved to 30-10-1 overall and 10-7-1 in the SEC. The Tigers have won three straight SEC series and 10 of their last 12 games.
Ole Miss, which was shut out for the first time this season, dropped to 30-11 overall and 10-8 in conference play.
Top-Ranked Virginia Clinches Series over UNC
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The top-ranked Virginia baseball team clinched its 10th straight winning weekend of the 2014 season with a 3-1 triumph over North Carolina Saturday afternoon in front of a sellout crowd of 5,025 at Davenport Field. Virginia (33-6, 16-4 ACC) has won all seven of its ACC series this year and captured 10 straight ACC series in Charlottesville since a 2012 series sweep at home to UNC.
Indiana Gets Walk-Off Win in Extra Innings
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Casey Rodrigue’s single in the bottom of the 12th lifted No. 18 Indiana to a 2-1 walk-off victory over Michigan State on Saturday afternoon at Bart Kaufman Field. IU pitchers Christian Morris, Jake Kelzer, Scott Effross and Luke Harrison combined to give up just one run on eight hits with seven strikeouts in 12 innings of work.
Harrison (2-0) was the winning pitcher for the Hoosiers as he pitched a perfect top of the 12th inning. Morris started for Indiana and surrendered just one earned run in 5.2 innings of work, giving up only four hits with three strikeouts.
