College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!
Number 13 on our countdown is Oregon State junior outfielder Michael Conforto. The Woodinville, WA native attended Redmond High School where he batted .400 and was named All-State and All-League as a senior.
As a sophomore in 2013, Conforto appeared in all 65 games and was named PAC-12 Player of the Year posting a .447 OBP, 11 HR, and 47 RBI. His 11 home runs were tied for the PAC-12 lead and 130 total bases were good for second in the conference. Conforto was also a part of the 2013 College World Series All-Tournament Team after going 7 for 16 (.438) with four doubles and two assists for the Beavers in Omaha.
He enters 2014 with 24 career home runs, just 11 shy of the Oregon State all-time record.
