College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!
Number 15 on our countdown is TCU junior LHP Brandon Finnegan. The Fort Worth, Texas native attended Southwest High School where he was a three year letter winner. He was drafted in the 45th round by the Texas Rangers but decided to head to TCU.
As a freshman in 2012, he appeared in 23 games making 11 starts. He finished the season with a record of 4-5 with a 3.47 ERA in 62 1/3 innings pitched striking out 56 and walking 30. He was able to hold opponents to a .234 batting average against.
His sophomore season saw him go 5-11 in 16 appearances including 15 starts. He was able to post a 3.18 ERA in 79 1/3 innings pitched while lead the team with 86 strikeouts. The team posted a 5-11 record in games he pitched and a 4-11 record in games he started as he only received 2.75 runs of support. He spent the summer with the USA Collegiate National Team where he went 3-1 with a 1.14 ERA in six appearances.
