College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the season with our 2014 Top 100 College Baseball Players. Today, we continue the countdown at number 37 with Cal State Fullerton RHP Justin Garza. The 5’11 160 pound sophomore from Ontario, California attended Bonita High School where he was a three year letter winner.
As a high school senior, he had a 12-1 record, 0.72 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 88 innings pitched while also batting .391. He was selected in the 26th round (803 overall) of the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft but decided to head to Cal State Fullerton.
As a freshman in 2013, he was a fixture in the Titans rotation going a perfect 12-0 with an ERA of 2.03 in 115 innings pitched. He struck out 95 batters while walking only 17. He was a consensus Freshman All-American while being named a second team All-American from several organizations.
