HarvardCelebrationCAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard baseball schedule has officially been released, Bill Decker, the Joseph J. O’Donnell ’67 Head Coach for Harvard Baseball, announced on Tuesday (Nov. 19). The Crimson will play a 41-game slate in 2014, featuring 12 games at Harvard’s O’Donnell Field.

The first pitch for the Crimson, which finished with a 10-31 record (7-13 Ivy League) last season, is set for 3 p.m. on Feb. 28 when Harvard kicks off its four-game series at Oral Roberts. Harvard remains in the Great Plains for a four-game stand against Lamar University immediately after, before heading back to the east coast to take on Big Ten contender Michigan St. in Greenville, S.C. The Crimson and Spartans square off for a three-game series over three days.

Harvard and Connecticut get together for one game a day later in Winter Haven, Fla., before the Crimson get North Dakota St. for a pair of late-march showdowns. A double header on March 21 kicks off a three-game series with Army in Tampa, Fla., to close out the southern trek.

Holy Cross awaits the Crimson’s return to the north on March 26, which closes out the bulk of the nonconference action for Harvard. Three days later, Harvard takes to New Jersey for its first Ivy League series, a doubleheader with Princeton. The travel-heavy schedule is ever apparent as the Crimson must play a doubleheader at Cornell just one day later (March 30).

O’Donnell Field hosts its first game on April 5th as Penn pays a visit for an Ivy League twinbill that kicks off a 10-game homestand for the Crimson. Columbia is in for a doubleheader on April 6, followed by an out-of-conference meeting with Boston College in the annual Beanpot on April 9.

Brown makes the short trip to Cambridge over the weekend to start the Red Wolfe Division play. The Crimson and Bears are set to play two doubleheaders apiece on April 12 and 13, before Northeastern wraps up the Crimson’s lengthy homestand on April 15.

Harvard treks to archrival Yale for four games starting April 19, set to play a pair of doubleheaders over two days. The Crimson immediately returns to the Boston area to play the final contest in the 2014 Beanpot on April 21.

Harvard and Dartmouth then prepare to play each other four times over two days, as the Crimson host the Big Green on April 26, before the regular season closes in Hanover on April 27. The Ivy League championship series is scheduled for May 3 and 4.
