TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State baseball coach Mitch Hannahs has announced the schedule for the 2014 Sycamore baseball team. The 55-game schedule begins with the Snowbird Baseball Classic at Port Charlotte, Fla., and concludes with the 2014 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament which will be played at Indiana State at the end of May.
Competition gets underway in February with the Sycamores taking on Auburn, Connecticut and Ohio State at the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla., Feb. 14-16. The Sycamores will continue their southern swing the following weekend by taking on Lipscomb, Belmont and Middle Tennessee State in the Mule Mix Classic (Feb. 21-23) in games played in Nashville and Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Indiana State will open their home season at Bob Warn Field on March 4 when the Sycamores host Eastern Illinois. The Sycamores will play four of their seven Missouri Valley Conference series on the home field with Illinois State, Wichita State, Dallas Baptist, and Missouri State all visiting Terre Haute.
The Valley season opens March 21 when the Sycamores begin a three-game series at Evansville.
Indiana State is coming off a 26-25 in 2013.
