Indiana releases 2014 Schedule

TracySmithIndiana_thumb.jpgBLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University Baseball program released its 2014 schedule Thursday (Oct. 24), highlighted by 23 home games at Bart Kaufman Field.

In addition to the 24-game Big Ten slate, Indiana is also scheduled to take the field for 29 non-conference tilts versus schools representing 11 different conferences.

The 2014 campaign opens up in Lubbock, Texas with a four-game set against the Texas Tech Red Raiders starting on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14-16). Next up is the 12th Annual Surprise College Baseball Classic, pitting a trio of Big Ten vs. PAC-12 institutions in a round-robin event for 2014 (Feb. 21-23). Indiana, Michigan State and Nebraska will represent the B1G with Washington, Utah and Oregon State as the PAC-12 contingent.

Indiana is also set to spend out-of-league weekends in Louisville for a Saturday doubleheader with the Cardinals and Toledo (March 1), and three-game series at Jacksonville (March 7-9) and Long Beach State (March 14-16). Home nonconference foes include: Xavier, Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana State, Miami (OH), Morehead State (a series), Ball State and Evansville.

Bart Kaufman Field will play host to conference series against Michigan (March 21-23), Michigan State (April 18-20), Purdue (May 2-4) and Minnesota (May 15-17). The Hoosiers hit the road for B1G series at Ohio State (March 28-30), Iowa (April 4-6), Illinois (April 25-27) and Penn State (May 9-11).
