ManhattanFieldRIVERDALE, N.Y. – The 2014 Manhattan College baseball schedule is out and features three NCAA Tournament teams from last year among the 53 regular season contests for the Jaspers.

Manhattan will open the 2014 campaign on Friday, February 21 at the Campbell Invitational in Buies Creek, N.C. The Jaspers will start and end the weekend against Delaware, sandwiched around two games against the host Camels.

A week later, Manhattan will participate in the Arizona State Invitational in Surprise, Ariz., the spring training home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. The Jaspers will face Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in consecutive games on February 27-28. The Sooners advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals in 2013 and the Cowboys won two games in the Regionals before falling to Louisville, which reached the College World Series. Manhattan also faces Gonzaga and Santa Clara of the West Coast Conference during that weekend.

A four-game set against Florida Gulf Coast from March 7-9 will complete the southern portion of Manhattan’s schedule. The Jaspers’ first northern game will be against NYIT on March 12.

After a three-game series against Seton Hall, MAAC play begins at Quinnipiac the weekend of March 22-23. The Jaspers’ home opener will be on Wednesday, April 2 vs. Fordham and will be followed by a three-game home series against Iona on April 5-6.

Durnig the remainder of the MAAC schedule, the Jaspers will host Monmouth (April 12-13), Siena (May 3-4) and Saint Peter’s (May 15-16) and travel to Marist (April 17, 19) and Rider (April 26-27). Manhattan will not play Fairfield and Niagara this season due to the expanded MAAC schedule with the addition of Monmouth and Quinnipiac to the conference.
