STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Bulldog Club is seeking input from baseball season-ticket holders and Bulldog Club members regarding the future of Dudy Noble Field/Polk-Dement Stadium. Listening sessions will be held in
both Starkville (Oct. 14) and Jackson (Oct. 15), giving fans the opportunity to provide feedback on possible renovations and expansion of historic Dudy Noble Field.
The first session will take place on MSU’s campus on Monday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m., in the multipurpose room inside the recently opened Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex. The second assembly will be held the following night (Tuesday, Oct. 15), at 6 p.m. at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in Jackson.
“Dudy Noble Field has provided the ultimate college baseball experience for decades, and now is the time to plan how this historic venue can be enhanced to serve the next generation of Bulldogs,” Athletics Director Scott Stricklin said. “Mississippi State baseball belongs to our great fans. They built the stadium in the 1980s, and their passion is a key reason Bulldog baseball has enjoyed a tradition of success. It’s imperative the fans are involved early in the planning process to ensure their voice is heard.”
Referred to as “The Carnegie Hall of College Baseball,” more than five million fans have witnessed seven SEC championship teams, three NCAA District III tournaments, five SEC tournaments, 11 NCAA Regionals and one NCAA Super Regional at Dudy Noble. The stadium is home to the top-10 on-campus crowds in NCAA history, and before playing for the national championship in the 2013 College World Series, the Bulldogs played in front of a school-record 308,967 fans this past spring in Starkville.
