South Carolina catcher Grayson Greiner returns home after a 43-day stint playing for Team USA this summer. Greiner, a junior for the Gamecocks, was one of the 23 players from across the country who were chosen to play for the summer team, and says that he feels like his experience with Team USA left a lasting impression on him. “It helped me elevate my game and realize I belong a little bit,” Greiner said in an interview with TheBigSpur. Greiner also said that he thinks that the experiences he had this summer will help him “take more of a leadership role next season.” Team USA compiled a record of 20-3, with all three losses coming against Japan. For the first time, Team USA swept Cuba in a best of five series.
