2013 Bloomington NCAA Regional Day 3 Recap

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Designated hitter Michael Davis delivered again, providing a leadoff home run in the eighth inning to give Austin Peay State University’s baseball team a 5-4 victory against Valparaiso, Sunday, in loser’s bracket action of the NCAA Baseball Championship’s Bloomington Regional at Bart Kaufman Field.

No. 2 seed Austin Peay (47-14) advances to the Bloomington Regional final against No. 1 seed Indiana at 6 p.m., Sunday. The Govs will need to win twice – a second game would be played at 6 p.m., Monday – to claim the regional title while the host Hoosiers need one win to clinch the title and advance to next week’s Super Regional round.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team surrendered three runs in the first inning and saw multiple scoring opportunities thwarted in a 6-1 loss to host Indiana in the final game of the NCAA Baseball Championship’s Bloomington Regional at Bart Kaufman Field.

Austin Peay (47-15) sees its season end in the regional final for the second consecutive season. Indiana advances to the super regional round where it will face national No. 7 seed Florida State next weekend with a berth to the College World Series on the line.
