Lowell, MA—(2)Binghamton defeated (1)Maine 10-2 in game four of the America East Conference tournament. Jack Rogalla was on the mound for Binghamton giving up six hits for two runs through seven innings including the two run homerun by Maine’s Fransoso. After the suspension the game resumed at 2:00pm on day three and Greg Ostner was on the hill for Binghamton giving up three hits for no runs through the last two innings. Hits were easy to come by for the Bearcats with the team accumulating 16 hits. Some standouts include Zach Blanden (2 for 5) picking up three RBIs and scoring once, Shaun McGraw (2 for 4) picking up one RBI and scoring once, Brian Ruby (2 for 3) scoring twice, and Bill Bereszniewicz (2 for 3) picking up two RBIs and scoring twice.
Starting on the mound for the Black Bears was A.J Bazdanes who gave up seven hits for five runs through four innings before Jake Marks came in giving up no hits or runs through his inning of play. Burk FitzPatrick then came in to pitch one and one third innings giving up three hits for two runs before being relieved by Luke Morrill who gave up two hits for one run through one third of an inning going into the suspension. Following the suspension Logan Fullmer was on the mound for Maine giving up four hits for two runs through the last one and one third innings. Michael Fransoso (1 for 4) hit well for Maine smashing a two run homer in the first inning along with Troy Black (1 for 4) who scored once and Alex Calbick (3 for 4).
With this loss Maine is set to face (4)Stony Brook in game five on day three with the winner moving on to the championship match-up against Binghamton in game six on day three.
