The Aggies of Texas A&M eliminated the Florida Gators with a 6-3 victory in the single -elimination SEC Tournament game on Tuesday evening. Daniel Mengden pitched a complete game for the Aggies, striking out 11 while allowing just five hits and one earned run.

Florida took an early two-run lead on the Aggies until a three-run home run in the top of the fourth by Hunter Melton gave Texas A&M a lead that would put them in a position where they would not trail again. The win improved Texas A&M’s record to 31-25 as Florida fell to 29-28. Texas A&M will face top-seeded Vanderbilt at 4:30 p.m. CST on Wednesday afternoon. Vanderbilt and Texas A&M did not have a conference series during the regular season and will meet for the first time in Wednesday’s game.

Final Score: Florida 3 – Texas A&M 6

Winning Pitcher: Daniel Mengden, Texas A&M (9.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 11 SO)
