(2)Binghamton defeated (3)UAlbany 9-0 in game two of the America East championship. Jake Lambert started on the mound for the Bearcats pitching a complete game shut-out allowing two hits through nine innings. Shaun McGraw (3 for 4) had a great game for the Bearcats scoring three times, along with Brian Ruby (1 for 2) scored twice and picking up two RBIs. Other notable hitters include Zach Blanden (1 for 4) picking up one RBI, David Schanz (0 for 4) picking up an RBI, Daniel Nevares (1 for 5) scoring once and picking up an RBI, Jake Thomas (0 for 4) scoring one run, Nick Pancerella (0 for 2) picking up an RBI, and last John Howell (0 for 4) and Bill Bereszniewicz (0 for 2) scored once each.
Errors plagued UAlbany as they committed seven errors compared to Binghamton’s zero. Kasceim Graham started the game on the hill for UAlbany allowing three hits for five runs through his three and two thirds innings before being relieved by Andrew Jaurique who gave up two hits for three runs through one and one third innings. Brendan Ryan came into the game to pitch two innings allowing a hit and a run before Sam DeCelle came in to finish the game giving up no hits for no runs in the last inning of play. Hitting was a struggle for UAlbany throughout with Gordon Madej (1 for 3), and Brian Bullard (1 for 3) getting the only two hits allowed by Lambert in the game.
With the conclusion of this game the day two games are set with (4) Stony Brook taking on (3) UAlbany in an elimination game at 4:00pm, and (1)Maine is set to take on (2)Binghamton at 8:00pm.
