The Sacramento State Hornets held their home opener on Friday afternoon against UC-Riverside. In the third inning, UC Riverside Eddie Young got caught in a rundown and appears to be tagged out aggressively by Sacramento State’s Andrew Ayers who pushes Young after the tag. Young then turns around throwing a punch at Ayers before more players come into the fray. UC Riverside’s Eddie Young and Drake Zarate and Sacramento State’s Andrew Ayers were ejected. Each player will now face an NCAA mandated four game suspension for fighting. Last season, Ayers was named the WAC player of the year. You can check out the full video of the fight from KCRA below.
