No. 22 Cal State Fullerton continued its winning ways, taking both games of a doubleheader against Nebraska Saturday at Goodwin Field.
The Titans took the first game 10-5 thanks to back-to-back three run innings after Nebraska had taken a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh. Senior Anthony Hutting struck the big blow with a pinch-hit two-run homer. Five different Titans had multi-hit performances in the first game, including Michael Lorenzen, who homered and scored three runs.
In the nightcap, Fullerton scored twice in the first inning, which was one more run than freshman Justin Garza needed in his debut. Garza pitched six scoreless innings, allowing only two hits while striking out six. The Titans’ hitters didn’t need to, but they provided nine runs of support to take a 9-0 win.
