MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s baseball team has released its 2013 schedule. In addition to the always competitive West Coast Conference schedule, the Gaels will have games against teams from the Pac-12, Big West, WAC, Mountain West, Great West and Big East.
Saint Mary’s begins the year four-games at Cal State Northridge from February 15-17. The Gaels will play their first home game at Louis Guisto Field on February 22 with the first of three games against Chicago State.
SMC faces national power Stanford at home on February 26 at 3:00 p.m. The Gaels will face the Cardinal twice this year, traveling to Stanford on April 30.
In addition to CSUN, Chicago State and Stanford, the Gaels will face UC Riverside, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, Sacramento State, Utah Valley, Nevada, Utah and Georgetown in non-conference action.
The WCC slate begins on March 22 when the Gaels welcome Loyola Marymount for a three-game set in Moraga. This year the Gaels will host WCC series against LMU, Portland, Santa Clara and San Diego.
The 2013 West Coast Conference Tournament will consist of the top four teams in conference. On May 23-25, the teams will square off in a tournament at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, Calif. The tournament winner will receive the WCC’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
