SPARTANBURG, SC – Wofford College announced the 2013 baseball schedule today, which is highlighted by home series against Pittsburgh and Marshall. Road trips to Clemson, South Carolina and Auburn are also on the slate for head coach Todd Interdonato and his squad.
The Terriers will play a total of 56 games, including 31 contests at Russell C. King Field on the Wofford campus. Home Southern Conference series will be played against UNC Greensboro, Furman, Davidson, The Citadel and College of Charleston. Midweek contests include home-and-home series with Presbyterian College, USC Upstate and Winthrop.
The season will start on Friday, February 17 against Georgetown and continue that weekend with match-ups against Niagara and UNC Asheville. The Terriers will host Pittsburgh for a three-game series beginning on February 22. A weekend series with Dayton and Marshall starts on March 1.
After a trip to Clemson on March 6, Wofford will begin the Southern Conference slate at Georgia Southern on March 8. The next weekend, the Terriers host The Citadel for the first home SoCon series.
Wofford will host UNC Greensboro in a weekend series beginning on Friday, March 22. A nine-game road trip will follow and include series at Appalachian State (March 29-31) and at Samford (April 5-7) along with a visit to Auburn.
April continues with home series against Furman (April 12-14) and Davidson (April 26-28), along with a road series at Elon (April 19-21). On April 30, Wofford will play Winthrop at Fluor Field in Greenville.
The month of May begins with a home conference series against College of Charleston (May 3-5), followed by a visit to South Carolina on May 8. After a road trip to Western Carolina (May 10-12), the regular season concludes with a home series against Old Dominion (May 17-18).
The Southern Conference Tournament will be held from May 22-26 at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina.
