CORAL GABLES, Fla. – On the day his team officially begins its 2012-13 campaign with the opening of fall practice, University of Miami head baseball coach Jim Morris released the team’s 2013 schedule Tuesday.
Miami’s 56-game regular season campaign, which includes 37 games inside Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field, features 10 weekend series’ against Atlantic Coast Conference competition.
“We’re playing another good schedule. It always starts with the ACC, one of the best conferences in the country,” Morris said. “It’s a very tough league every year.”
The Hurricanes open their season with Rutgers (Feb. 15-17) for the fifth consecutive season, and also have three-game sets at home against Milwaukee (Feb. 22-24) and on the road at Florida (March 1-3) before opening conference play at home against Duke (March 8-10).
“Every single weekend is a battle,” Morris added.
Miami wraps up its regular season with a home series against the visiting Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (May 16-18) before a potential trip to Durham, N.C. and the ACC Baseball Tournament (May 22-25).
