Matt Duval has been hired as the new volunteer baseball assistant coach at Siena College. Duval spent the last three years as the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan.
“Matt is a great fit on our staff,” head coach Tony Rossi said. “He brings a lot of experience to this position, and is excited to help us compete for a championship.”
In addition to his three years as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator at Benedictine College (NAIA), Duval coached at Burlington County College (NJCAA) as well as Mount Aloysius College (DIII).
During the summer, Duval has coached in summer collegiate leagues along the East coast. Most recently he was the hitting coach with the Morehead City Marlins of the Coastal Plains League this summer, a club managed by former major leaguer Brian McRae. His 2011 summer was spent with the Albany Dutchmen of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
Duval, a Pennsylvania native, is a graduate of Mount Aloysius College. He received his MBA from Benedictine in May 2011.
