WASHINGTON – The George Washington University Department of Athletics and Recreation announced today that GW Baseball Head Coach Steve Mrowka will not return to the Colonials next season.
“We want to thank Steve for his eight seasons as coach of our baseball program,” said Director of Athletics and Recreation Patrick Nero. “He was always a model of professionalism.”
Mrowka compiled a record of 202-245 (.452) in eight seasons at the helm of the Colonials, including a 95-109 (.466) mark in Atlantic 10 action. He was originally hired on August 5, 2004, and his best season was his first campaign in 2005 when the Colonials last qualified for the Atlantic 10 Championship.
The Department of Athletics and Recreation will launch a search immediately for a new head baseball coach.
